Silver Bay Holiday Village is pleased to announce that our very own beach, Silver Bay, has been given the international Green Flag Award of coastal excellence.

Following close inspection from Keep Wales Tidy, Silver Bay has achieved Green status in every category – including:

  • Water quality standards

  • Beach management

  • No pollution or sewage

  • Manual litter removal

  • Safe public access

  • Safe for bathing

This news has come at an excellent time for Silver Bay, especially following the opening of our new seafront ice cream and snack parlour, the Tiki Hut:

The award is also welcome news for the thousands of visitors who flock to Silver Bay coast every year, including our neighbours who call Anglesey home. A number of other Anglesey beaches have also been awarded Green status:

  • Borth Wen

  • Cemlyn

  • Porth Nobla

  • Llanfaelog

  • Cable Bay

  • Sandy Beach

  • Rhoscolyn

  • St. Davids

  • Benllech

  • Traeth Crigyll

  • Traeth Mawr

  • Aberffraw

In comparison to 2014, more Welsh beaches have been given green or blue certification than ever before. Keep Wales Tidy has also helped to award good water quality to a further 60 beaches – solidifying that Wales has some of the best coastlines throughout Europe.
