Slightly over a year back a painfully shy and under assured single mum-of-two was auditioning for The X Factor. Now setting out on a nationwide tour, including a date in Rhyl, Rebecca Ferguson has the world at her feet, releasing debut album Heaven while her first single, Nothing’s Real But Love made the UK Top 10.

It’s beside the point that she came 2nd in the final maybe even preferable, as it means that the year has allowed this Liverpudlian world-class singer-songwriter to hone her writing talents and channel that outstanding soul voice into a variety of songs which will build her, now aged 25, as the voice of her generation, and a world megastar.

The Duke and Duchess to Remain our Neighbours Whilst Setting up their London Base

The newly titled Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are due to move into Kensington Palace in London, using an apartment within as their London base.

Kensington Palace, formerly the official home of Princess Diana, will act as a temporary measure, with the couple looking to acquire a larger property in the capital at a later date.

Their Royal Highnesses will retain their Anglesey property during Prince William’s service as a search and rescue helicopter pilot at RAF Valley across the bay from us here at Silver Bay.

The move is due to happen before their official tour of Canada which begins on June 30th.

It just goes to show how popular Anglesey is…………….

It’s official……….. Anglesey is such a popular and desirable destination that even a Cornwall based moggy managed to negotiate the 403 mile trip to pay a visit. As reported by the BBC. The one year old pussy, Charlie, somehow took it upon himself (Doubtless after a visit to the Silver Bay website) to find his way to the beautiful Welsh retreat.
Miraculously, after some treatment by the RSPCA, Charlie was reunited with his owners, who were amazed given that they’d spent months leafleting their local area trying to track down their beloved pet.
The theory is that Charlie managed somehow to hitch a ride, and the RSPCA are keen to hear from anyone who may have made a journey, probably in a van or lorry, in February.
A heart warming story, with a really happy ending!
If Charlie can take so much trouble to pay us a visit surely you can too……….?
