In between frolicking on our private beach and relaxing in our luxury holiday homes, we enjoy nothing more than a scrumptious meal out. And we don’t know about you, but one of our favourite parts of any dining experience is the dessert!

From gooey chocolate cake to smooth, sumptuous cheesecake – we’ve sampled a lot of desserts around the area, and we’d like to share our ultimate favourites with you.

So when you head out from your Anglesey holiday home for the evening (once you’ve already dined at our very own bistro, of course!) be sure to have this list close to hand. You’re guaranteed a great sweet treat no matter where you choose!

Sosban and The Old Butchers Restaurant

Known for enticing desserts with a twist, the Sosban and The Old Butchers Restaurant is a delight no matter what course you’re enjoying.

Each dish is designed to play with your tastebuds, and this includes the puddings too.

If you’re a chocolate lover, we sincerely hope that the chocolate sphere is on the menu during your visit. This dessert truly is unlike anything we’ve ever seen, or tasted, before – but then most of the desserts at this establishment are!

Know that you’re in good hands for the whole meal at the Sosban and The Old Butchers Restaurant with their creative dishes and stunning produce.

The Tavern on the Bay

Another excellent choice for the dessert lovers across Anglesey is The Tavern on the Bay.

This gastro pub is home to some beautiful scenic views of the sand dunes and surrounding ocean, and it’s ideal for a special meal for all the family.

The food looks as great as it tastes, and alongside tantalising mains such as grilled salmon, pork and duck – the desserts are sure to leaving you coming back for more.

The banoffee cheesecake with salted caramel ice cream really is something special indeed, and the likes of pomegranate and elderflower creme brulee is the perfect modern twist on a classic dessert – so don’t miss out!

Sullivan’s

Another classic local place for dessert has to be Sullivan’s. The restaurant itself only looks small from the outside, but it’s beautifully presented throughout and serves some of the best food in the area.

In terms of what’s on the menu, Sullivan’s offers everything from tasty pizzas through to steak and mussels, and let’s not forget about the reason we’re discussing Sullivan’s in the first place… the desserts!

If you’re after something fruity, you won’t go far wrong with their stunning zesty lemon cheesecake – and for something really indulgent, their Belgian waffles with maple syrup and ice cream will warm your sweet tooth right up!

Sullivan’s pride themselves on working with local Anglesey produce, and we’re certain you’ll love their dishes and flavours just as much as we do.

Dylan’s

Located in Menai Bridge, Dylan’s is a wonderful place to visit if you’re after an amazing dessert experience.

Once again, this establishment makes the most of Anglesey’s stunning scenery, and incorporates it as a part of the dining experience.

One for those looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, the food and desserts at Dylan’s are wonderful. We recommend the sticky toffee pudding for those chilly winter evenings, and also the peanut butter and jelly donuts for something extra special and exciting!

The Harbourfront Bistro

The Harbourfront Bistro is a unique restaurant in Anglesey. It’s located seconds away from the beach, and the fact that it’s set away from the rest of the buildings nearby really makes an impressive statement.

The meals here are just as tasty as the desserts, but a shout out to the puddings is more than deserved. Get cosy and enjoy the likes of warm homemade berry flapjack, or perhaps opt for an alluring slice of lemon and lime cheesecake.

You won’t be disappointed with the sweet treats from The Harbourfront Bistro, and they are presented almost as wonderfully as they taste!

Blueberries

Blueberries is our first cafe to feature on the list, and we can’t think of many better places to go and grab something sweet than here.

The cakes are all homemade – which is probably what makes them so tantalisingly excellent, and both the victoria sponge cake and coffee and walnut cake are regular hits with customers.

The cupcakes are also a delight, and if you’re lucky the festive offering will be on – a moist sponge piled high with luscious green icing! Sprinkles and a cute image of Father Christmas himself also grace the top, and they’re perfect for children, (and the child in all of us adults too)!

Match these with a perfect cup of coffee and you’ll be in dessert heaven.

The Pilot House Cafe

Sticking with the cafe theme, The Pilot House Cafe is the ideal place to visit to grab a sweet treat whilst out exploring the Anglesey area.

This quirky little establishment really captures the heart of a seaside cafe, and their relaxed atmosphere matched with the humongous, mouth-watering cream teas make for an excellent pit stop during the day.

If you’re after a warming drink, we recommend you opt for the hot chocolate. It comes piled high with luscious cream and a delicious chocolate flake to match!

Take a break from the nearby pebble beach and enjoy The Pilot House Cafe to the maximum with tasty cakes, hot and cold food and a variety of drinks.
